Meet Davina

I am a registered psychologist, and I have worked for community sectors, not-for-profit organisations and in private practice, taking on different roles, as a volunteer, advocate, counsellor and psychologist.

I have a particular interest in perinatal, postnatal and infant mental health, focusing on the fundamentals of attachment theory and key concepts from the Circle of Security. I am enthusiastic about helping individuals to build a secure environment, from birth all the way through to adulthood, by providing the opportunity to help develop their confidence, resilience and self-reflection and improve their psychological wellbeing in order to flourish in life and in relationships. It is never too late to work on yourself and thrive.

My approach is warm and encouraging in the way that I connect with parents. I am dedicated to creating a calm, empathetic and collaborative space for my clients where they can feel supported, heard and empowered, to gain personal growth and confidence in navigating their parenting path ahead.

I have a particular interest in the interplay between the mind, brain and body by empowering parents to build a secure attachment with their infant through co-regulation and attunement skills, while also encouraging parental self-care. Therefore, leading to a deeper connection of the parent-infant relationship.

I am enthusiastic about holding baby in mind whilst offering support to parents to reflect on their own parenting history, utilising self-compassion, to feel better equipped to support the well-being of their children.

I have completed training in perinatal and infant mental health with the Perinatal Training Centre and Gidget Foundation Australia, as well as attending workshops and seminars on trauma and attachment theory. I continue to attend supervision and training to ensure that I am providing the best available care to my clients.
